Reported by: ranu Sharjah, Nov 13: Karnataka Sangha Sharjah one of the well organized association for Kannadigas in UAE, brilliantly organized their sports event, Mayura Cup 2010 Tournament at Wanderer’s Club Sharjah today, Friday the 12th November, 2010 well witnessed by around megha 2000 Kannadigas from all over the UAE. It was a spectacular day long show in which around 16 Men’s Volley Ball Teams, 7 Ladies Throw Ball Teams, 8 Men’s Kabbadi Teams & 2 teams each in Men’s & Women’s Tug-of-war Tournaments. On the whole there were around 160 players in Volley Ball, 84 players in Throw Ball, 90 players in Kabbadi as members of all the teams. The crowd included their team mates, families, friends and relatives who have come all the way to witness, support and cheer up their teams. All in all it was well organized and arranged as the event was conducted smoothly without any hic-ups. A Kannadiga event of this size in this part of the world, during this time, was really amazing to see. The programme started at around 9.30 AM with opening up of the tournament by the Chief Guest, T. Ramanna, Secretary General Asian Throw ball Federation & Throw ball Federation of India who has come all the way from India to witness this function. Large number of people already assembled in the early morning hours though the weather was a bit warm and humid.. |
