The exhibition was inaugurated by S K Raina, divisional raliway manager, Phalghat division.
In his inaugural address he gave call to the people to make an effort to know the life of the great woman. He also remarked that Railway is keen to make popular the lives of the great people through this kind of exhibition. Therefore few weeks back Tagore express had arrived in Mangalore to commemorate the life of Rabindranath Tagore.
Mangaloreans got an opportunity to view the special train with photo exhibition on the life of Mother Teresa showcased to commemorate her birth centenary. The train is stationed at Mangalore Central Railway station for two days from Thursday.
The train consists of three air-conditioned coaches with exhibits about the life, work and message of Mother Teresa, including photographs and write-ups. The Missionaries of Charity has provided the photographs and other material for the exhibition.
This exhibition train is like a museum with some great and unforgettable pictures of Mother Teresa’s life and work.
The ‘Mother Express’ was flagged by union railway minister Mamata Banarjee on August 26 coinciding with Mother Teresa’s 100th Birthday from Kolkata as a tribute to the Great Mother Teresa and will tour around the country for six months.
